It’s true that we can’t predict the future, but we can prepare for it. Here at Colfax Public Library, we are dedicated to ensuring that Colfax has a welcoming and inclusive library that encourages the love of reading in people of all ages. That’s why we established the Colfax Public Library Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Dunn County. 

This endowment is professionally and permanently invested for long-term growth, providing ongoing support for the Library’s operational expenses. Each year—forever, we receive a percentage of the fund’s balance to help with programming, collection development, equipment upgrades, and other expenses.  

You can be a part of our long-term success. There are a variety of ways to provide you with maximum tax and financial benefits. Ways to give: 

1. Gifts of Cash:  The simplest way to support us is through a cash donation. You can give online at https://cfdunncounty.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=2386 or by mailing a check. Your gift is tax-deductible and will provide immediate and ongoing support for Colfax Public Library.
2. Gifts of Appreciated Securities:  Donating stocks or bonds is a tax-efficient way to support our endowment. By contributing appreciated securities, you avoid capital gains tax and can make a significantly larger impact than by donating cash alone.
3. Gifts of Retirement Assets:  If you are over 70 ½ , you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA to the Community Foundation. This allows you to support our endowment while meeting your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and avoiding income tax.
4. Planned Giving:  Consider leaving a legacy that lasts. By including us in your will, trust, or as a beneficiary of retirement assets, you can make a future gift that secures our mission without impacting your current finances.
